59121 is the first of four Type59 manufactured internally called as "Car Engine # 3 ."
She served in the Grand Prix program from late 1933 until 1934. Among its original drivers were René Dreyfus and Robert Benoist .
In 1934, 59121 was aligned with three other Type 59 in the first Grand Prix of the season, that of Monaco . The ' Car Engine No. 3 had been assigned to Robert Benoist but it inadvertently damaged the car and could not participate in the race . Once the car repaired in Molsheim , she was kept for spare parts and was eventually sold with the other three Type 59 to a quartet of British racing drivers amateurs .
During these 56 years the car was only used sparingly. In 2005, he was no longer in working condition but still sold 1,321,500 pounds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Bonhams auction . Acquired by the collector and historic racer Thomas Bscher , who was then president of Bugatti Automobiles.
